Counselor Profile: Kathy Glick, LPC, MSE, NCC

Kathy specializes in helping clients cope with transitions and challenging or traumatic life events, ranging from loss of a loved one, divorce, moving, empty nest and retirement to sexual abuse and serious illness. She is an EMDR certified therapist, holds a certificate in grief and loss, and is board certified. Additional trainings include Gottman marital therapy training, Beck Institute CBT training, specialized trauma trainings, Dare to Lead Training, conflict resolution training, among many others. She continually seeks updated training on scientifically proven therapies, flexibly using what works best for each client.

Kathy knows how it feels to face profound life changes in quick succession followed by the need to rebuild your life. Her life experiences have strengthened her commitment to helping others (adults, teens, and couples) cope with trauma, life changes/transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems by helping clients find their own resilience and path back to a happier, healthier life.

Kathy’s counseling stye is straightforward and pragmatic, while at the same time, empathetic, supportive, and encouraging. She values authenticity, avoids “counselor speak,” seeks real connection with clients, and tailors therapy goals to clients’ values and needs. Kathy sees the good in clients even when they fail to see it in themselves, helping clients feel valued and gain hope. She brings out strengths, clients did not realize they possessed.

Clients find Kathy safe and easy to be with and enjoy her energetic, sometimes irreverent style - sessions include laughter as well as serious work. Kathy’s clients typically develop more faith in themselves, feel better about who they are, and experience significant symptom reduction after therapy.
